Three tailored programs to help you settle in
Malmö’s professional community has joined forces with public sector organisations to develop initiatives that empower newcomers to build connections, identify opportunities, and find their place in Malmö.
Soft Landing Program
The Soft Landing Program helps the partners of people that have recently relocated to Malmö in building professional connections and connecting with the city’s business community. The program is made up of group sessions, 1-on-1 meetings, study visits, social gatherings, bike tours, dinners, and professional networking activities. If your partner has been recruited, and you and your family are living here, this program might be a good opportunity for you.
Malmö Residency
Malmö Residency is a city-wide community program that offers professionals a chance to find a new professional context—away from home, but close to inspiration. This recurring initiative has become a signature feature of Malmö’s business development and city branding, combining creativity, innovation, and international collaboration. In 2025, 860 people from 88 countries applied to take part in the program.
From master studies to working life in Malmö
This initiative supports international master’s students who are considering staying in Malmö after graduation. By a collaboration between Malmö University, the City of Malmö, Media Evolution and Drivhuset Malmö, and support from Region Skåne, it helps make the transition from studies to working life more connected and easier to navigate. Building on existing collaborations and programmes, the initiative aims to create practical opportunities and long-term support for students who want to explore a future in Malmö.
